چکیده
Background: Cataracts and diabetes very commonly coexist. While the results of cataract extraction (CE) procedure are astounding, patients with may have more unfortunate visual outcomes in comparison to their counterparts. Aims Objectives: This study is planned see frequency development macular oedema (ME) diabetic as compared non-diabetics also progression ME after surgery. Materials Methods: prospective comparative enrolled 100 diabetics undergoing surgery fulfilling inclusion criteria. Complete ocular examination was done for both groups preoperatively postoperatively at 1 week, month, 3 months including central thickness evaluation using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Results: Improvement acuity observed group but, achieved better diabetics. A significant increase mean foveal (CFT) post month observed; however, difference not significant. All mild, moderate, severe non-proliferative retinopathy (NPDR) showed increment CFT from baseline value but none patient mild NPDR grade presented new clinically edema on OCT. Conclusion: Cataract causes a non-diabetics. did lead stages DR, although all three grades DR reference value.

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to evaluate nepafenac ophthalmic suspension 0.1% (Nevanac(®); Alcon Research Ltd) in the prevention of macular edema following cataract surgery in diabetic retinopathy patients. METHODS This was a multicenter, randomized, double-masked, vehicle-controlled study of 263 adult diabetic patients with nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy requiring cataract...
متن کاملAqueous cytokines as predictors of macular edema in non-diabetic patients following uncomplicated phacoemulsification cataract surgery
PURPOSE To ascertain whether cytokines in the aqueous humor can predict macular edema (ME) in non-diabetic patients following uncomplicated phacoemulsification cataract surgery. METHODS Undiluted aqueous humor samples were obtained from 288 consecutive non-diabetic patients (288 eyes; 132 men and 156 women) who underwent cataract surgery. Macular edema was defined as an increase in the foveal...

PURPOSE To assess the macular thickness changes after cataract surgery in diabetic patients using optical coherence tomography (OCT). METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the records of 104 diabetic patients who underwent cataract surgery. We examined the changes of macular thickness using OCT before cataract surgery and 1 week, 1-, 2- and 6-months after surgery. The central subfield mean thic...
